Shrub beds / Mulch Beds

Dedicated Area where shrubs are grown and it’s covered with mulch. Surface area of beds that would be mulched. Whether or not they are covered with shrubs, beds that would be mulched are measured. Doesn't include tree rings.

Hedges

A hedge is a fence or boundary formed by closely growing bushes or shrubs.

Captures locations of trees and the size of the ring at base.

Water Body

Any man made or natural water body on the property with measurable perimeter or area.

Sidewalk is a paved path for pedestrians usually found at the side of a road as well as inside the property.

Driveways

Driveway is a short road leading from a public road to a house or other building. This feature is specific to residential properties.

Parking Lots

A designated space outside any building to park the vehicles at a property.


Pavements

A paved surface usually found around the building that creates a buffer between the building and parking lot, roadways or sidewalk.

Maps the slots in a parking lot where vehicles are parked

Parking Drive Lanes

Driving lanes within a parking lot usually between rows of parking spaces.

Roadways

A part of road intended for vehicles to go from drive lanes to main road in a parking lot. This feature is specific to commercial properties.

Docks

A platform or paved surface for loading lorries, goods trains or docks


Rock Beds

Landscaped beds covered with pebbles, small rocks without mulch. Rock beds may or may not have shrubs. They are common in drier regions of the country. Surface area measurement can be used for de-weeding/chemical application takeoffs.

Retention Ponds

Area reserved to collect and treat surface water run-off. This is spotted in aerial images using the distinct appearance of unmaintained landscape area that's covered with grass or shallow water.

Asphalt Surfaces

All hardscape areas with asphalt surface (except sidewalks). If you want to measure based on the surface type of hardscape area instead of type of use (Parking Lots, Roadways and Docks), you should select Asphalt along with concrete to get areas relevant for snow removal.

Concrete Surfaces

All hardscape areas with concrete surface (except sidewalks). If you want to measure based on the surface type of hardscape area instead of type of use (Parking Lots, Roadways and Docks), you should select concrete along with asphalt to get areas relevant for snow removal.
