THE PLATO PROMPT PLAYBOOK
Copy. Tweak. Close.
The difference between a generic AI image and one that closes the deal? A good prompt. Here's your cheat sheet for the most common enhancement pitches.
THE PROMPT FORMULA
Every great Plato prompt has 4 ingredients:
[ACTION] + [SPECIFIC AREA] + [DETAIL/STYLE] + [SEASON/CONDITION]
Example:
"Replace patchy turf with thick, healthy green grass across the front lawn, freshly mowed, mid-summer condition."
Stick to this and you'll get usable images on the first try — no re-prompting at the property.
TURF & LAWN ENHANCEMENTS
Aeration + Overseeding
"Transform the patchy, thinning turf into a thick, lush green lawn with even coverage and no bare spots."
Lawn Renovation
"Replace the weed-filled lawn with uniform, healthy Kentucky bluegrass, freshly mowed with clean edges."
Sod Replacement
"Show the dead lawn replaced with fresh-laid sod, vibrant green, with crisp seams and clean perimeter."
BED & MULCH WORK
Mulch Refresh
"Add fresh dark brown hardwood mulch to all the planting beds, 2–3 inches deep, with crisp clean edges along the lawn."
Bed Edging
"Create a clean, defined spade edge between the lawn and the mulch beds, sharp curves following the natural bed shape."
Bed Cleanup + Planting
"Clear the overgrown beds and replant with seasonal flowers — mix of perennials and annuals, layered by height, freshly mulched."
TREE & SHRUB WORK
Pruning
"Show the overgrown shrubs neatly pruned to a uniform shape, with clear separation between plants and clean structural form."
Tree Removal
"Remove the dead/damaged tree from the front yard, replace with healthy turf and clean grading where the tree stood."
New Tree Installation
"Plant a mature ornamental tree (like a Japanese maple) in the front yard as a focal point, with a mulched ring around the base."
SEASONAL COLOR & FLOWER INSTALLS
Spring Color
"Install spring annuals — tulips, pansies, and daffodils — in the front bed, layered by height with vibrant pinks, yellows, and purples."
Summer Display
"Add a full summer flower display with petunias, marigolds, and salvia in the front planters and beds, in full bloom."
Fall Showcase
"Replace summer flowers with fall mums, ornamental kale, and pumpkins arranged at the entryway."
HARDSCAPE PREVIEWS
Walkway Install
"Add a curved natural stone walkway from the driveway to the front door, bordered by low landscape lighting and mulched beds."
Patio Addition
"Show a paver patio installed in the backyard with a seating area and surrounding planted beds."
Retaining Wall
"Add a stacked stone retaining wall along the sloped side of the property, with planted beds above and below."
PRO TIPS FOR BETTER RESULTS
- Be specific about color — "dark brown mulch" beats "fresh mulch."
- Name the season — "spring," "mid-summer," "early fall" anchors the look.
- Mention condition — "freshly mowed," "in full bloom," "just installed."
- One major change per image — combining 5 enhancements confuses the AI. Generate separately for cleaner results.
- Use reference plants by name — "boxwood," "hydrangea," "Japanese maple" — the AI knows what these look like.
WHAT TO AVOID
- Vague words like "nice," "better," "improved" — be specific.
- Too many changes in one prompt — split into multiple generations.
- Style words the client won't understand — keep prompts about what they'll see, not internal jargon.
