How to edit parcel for an estimation order in SiteRecon?
Before placing an estimate order in SiteRecon, you must confirm and, if necessary, edit the parcel boundary. This guide explains why editing matters, the risks of skipping it, and how to adjust parcels step by step to ensure accurate, scope-aligned estimates.
Before SiteRecon can generate an estimate, you need to confirm the parcel boundary, i.e., the area of the property to be measured and priced. Sometimes the auto-detected parcel may include surrounding properties, roads, or other irrelevant sections.
That’s why we give you the ability to edit the parcel boundary before placing an estimation order.
Why Editing the Parcel Is Important
The accuracy of your estimate depends entirely on what’s inside the parcel boundary.
Here’s what happens if you don’t correct it:
- You might measure (and price) turf or beds that don’t belong to the property
- You might miss areas that are part of the service scope
- Your estimate could be rejected by the client due to scope mismatches
- You risk losing margin by underpricing or losing the job by overpricing
Editing the parcel ensures SiteRecon maps only the areas that are yours to maintain and nothing else.
Step-by-Step: How to Edit a Parcel
Here is a step-wise process of editing a parcel while placing an estimation order:
- Login to SiteRecon
- Click on “Create Property” on the dashboard
- Enter property address in the search bar
- Select “Estimation Order” and then click on “Create Order”
- Now, you will see three options before you can confirm the parcel. First - You can draw the whole parcel from scratch. Second - You can edit the existing parcel. Third - You can cut a portion from the parcel.
- After you complete editing the parcel, click on “Finish Editing”. Finally, click on “Confirm Parcel” and continue ordering your estimation.
Once an estimation order is submitted, the parcel cannot be edited. If you need changes, please reach out to your account manager for assistance.
