How to add feedback to an estimation order in SiteRecon?

Before SiteRecon generates your estimate, you must review and approve the takeoff. If something looks off—like missing areas or incorrect boundaries, you can use the feedback feature to request changes directly on the map. This article explains when you can add feedback, how the review process works, and the step-by-step method to submit revisions and notes, ensuring your final estimate is accurate and client-ready.

SiteRecon gives you the ability to review and approve the takeoff before we begin working on the estimate. If something doesn’t look right, such as missing areas, incorrect boundaries, or misinterpreted layers, you can use the feedback feature to request changes.

When Can You Submit Feedback?

You can add feedback after the takeoff is delivered, but before the estimate is created.

At this stage, you’ll be prompted to either:

  • Approve the takeoff if everything looks good
  • Add feedback if there are issues that need to be addressed before estimating

This ensures that SiteRecon’s estimating team works only on approved takeoff data, eliminating wasted effort and ensuring accuracy.

You cannot submit feedback after the estimate has been created. Feedback must be submitted at the takeoff review stage.

How the Feedback Process Works

Here’s how the feedback cycle fits into the estimation workflow:

  1. Order placed → Takeoff begins
  2. Takeoff delivered → You review the map and service layers
  3. You either:
    • Approve → Estimating team begins the estimate
    • Add feedback → Takeoff team makes revisions
  4. You re-approve revised takeoff → Estimating begins

This gives you full control over the data that powers your estimate, before any pricing logic is applied.

Steps to Add Feedback

Here is a step-wise procedure to add feedback to the takeoff before the estimating begins:

Once the takeoff is completed from SiteRecon’s end, you will receive an email about the same or you can check the progress of the order on your dashboard, as shown in the image below:

Feedback (1)

  1. If the status is “Takeoff Done”, then open the property.
  2. Click on “Awaiting Approval” which will open a pop-up where you will have the option to either “Approve Takeoff” or “Add Feedback”. (Note - You will also see the time that is left for you to add feedback. You will have to add feedback within that time frame, otherwise the takeoff will be auto-approved.)

  3. Click on “Add Feedback” and then you can add your feedback directly on the map. This means you can mark the exact area on the map where you need a change and add the feedback, as shown below:
    Post Feedback (1)
  4. You can add image/video/document attachments as well to explain the feedback. Once you have added the feedback click on “Post”. SiteRecon team will be notified about the feedback and they will start working on it. The status of the order will once again go back to “Takeoff Pending”. Once the team had completed the takeoff, the status will change to “Takeoff Done”. This is when you check again and approve the takeoff by clicking on “Approve Takeoff”.
  5. After your approval, SiteRecon team starts working on preparing the estimation. At this stage, you have the option to add notes about things you want the team to know while preparing the estimation.
  6. To add notes, click the “Notes” icon on the left side of the screen (highlighted in the red box in the image below). Then, click the “New Note” button. Your cursor will turn into a note icon, which you can place anywhere on the property to create a note.

This process ensures your estimate is accurate, scoped correctly, and aligned with expectations.
