How to add a new feature layer?

Add standard or custom layers to enhance property views and capture additional site details

SiteRecon Features

Once you've approved a property, you may need to add a new layer to enhance your project. This is a common step when updating or customizing your SiteRecon map.

To add a standard feature layer:

  1. Click the + button.
  2. Select the desired feature from the SiteRecon feature library.
  3. Click Add Layer to insert an empty layer into the current view. You can begin drawing on this layer using the Editing Tools.

Custom Features

To add a custom feature layer, follow these steps:

  1. Click the + button.
  2. Choose an existing feature from your organization’s feature set, or click + Create Custom Layer to define a new one.

When creating a custom layer, you’ll be prompted to enter:

  • Name of the feature
  • Type (e.g., Polygon)
  • Category (e.g., Hardscape or Softscape)
  • Symbol and color preferences for easy identification

You can also choose to apply the custom layer at either the organization level or the user level by toggling the Workspace-wide Layer option.
