How to add a new feature layer?
Add standard or custom layers to enhance property views and capture additional site details
SiteRecon Features
Once you've approved a property, you may need to add a new layer to enhance your project. This is a common step when updating or customizing your SiteRecon map.
To add a standard feature layer:
- Click the + button.
- Select the desired feature from the SiteRecon feature library.
- Click Add Layer to insert an empty layer into the current view. You can begin drawing on this layer using the Editing Tools.
Custom Features
To add a custom feature layer, follow these steps:
- Click the + button.
- Choose an existing feature from your organization’s feature set, or click + Create Custom Layer to define a new one.
When creating a custom layer, you’ll be prompted to enter:
- Name of the feature
- Type (e.g., Polygon)
- Category (e.g., Hardscape or Softscape)
- Symbol and color preferences for easy identification
You can also choose to apply the custom layer at either the organization level or the user level by toggling the Workspace-wide Layer option.
